Laos Dong-Tai Potash Mine is located at the Mekong Riverside about 20km in the southeast of Thakhek, Khammouan Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. It is of tropical monsoon climate, with large precipitation in rainy season, large morphological change of mine and is difficult to mine. The design mining capacity is 500,000 t/a, ramp development is adopted and the beneficiation product is potash.
According to the overseas engineering characteristics of "two countries, three locations and four parties", project management organization is determined, and efficient risk response measures are developed by giving priority to progress and cost management, focusing on quality and HSE management, paying attention to the application of document information feedback and project management technique, and remaining risk control and contract management throughout the implementation of project. Combined commissioning of system was completed successfully for the project on March 29, 2010.
